Overview

From 2015 through 2018, I called Denmark home, enjoying the country’s charming cities, which were known for their prettiness, cleanliness, and safety. Life in Denmark was a world apart from the crowded tourist spots of southern Europe, with a quieter, more authentic atmosphere that felt distinctly local. While the long, dark winters had their challenges, the summers were a delight, with up to 17 hours of daylight that brightened the mood and opened up countless outdoor activities. The Danish approach to work and life offered a wonderful balance, emphasizing quality time, leisure, and personal well-being.

Central to the Danish lifestyle was the concept of “hygge,” which captured a sense of coziness and contentment found in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was gathering with friends around a warm fire, enjoying a candlelit dinner, or savoring a quiet moment with a book, hygge was about creating a comforting atmosphere that fostered a sense of warmth and togetherness. This cultural value permeated everyday life, making Denmark not just a place to live, but a place to truly feel at home.
